Want to explore a little world culture? Look no further than the Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, performing this month at the Queensborough Performing Arts Center. Under the direction of Taras Lewyckyj, the 20-member ensemble combines the art of classical ballet with traditional Ukrainian dance and is committed to imparting the finer aspects of Ukrainian culture, history, and traditions upon its audiences. The company has performed throughout various festival circuits and concert halls in the United States and Canada, with a repertoire consisting of over 45 traditional dances from the Ukraine, including the energetic Hopak and the elegant Kokhanochka.
