Dora Gutman, owner of the new daycare Lucky Ducky Child Care in Nanuet, knows how difficult it can be to find quality childcare.
“In seeking childcare for my own children many years ago, I remember the burden of trust with babysitters and nannies,” Gutman says. “Creating an environment where children can thrive and succeed is my objective.” After nine years as the administrative director of the summer camp program at Wagon Wheel Campgrounds, Dora is opening her own small at-home day care, where she says she will provide intimate, high-quality childcare.
Lucky Ducky Child Care offers full-day services to children from 6 weeks to 5 years old and also has an after-school program. Children in the full-day program participate in educational and social activities such as reading and writing development, potty training, numbers and shapes, and music time.
“Our goal is to support your child’s desire to be life-long learners,” says Gutman, whose preschool curriculum encourages both cognitive and emotional development. Young children also receive nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks. School-age children can come to a safe environment for a light dinner and homework help. Lucky Ducky can accommodate 12 children for full-day services and four children in the after-school program, ensuring individualized attention.
Gutman knows that parents prioritize their children’s safety when choosing a daycare. Her entire staff is CPR and First Aid certified, and the staff undergoes rigorous character and background checks. But you don’t have to take her word for it; Gutman invites parents to “drop-in” unannounced to observe their children and the staff. “Our ducklings are our future,” Gutman says.
Lucky Ducky is located at 48 Oakland Place, Nanuet. For more information, contact Dora Gutman at 914-403-6907 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
