Matt Krass, also known as Matty Roxx, now offers guitar lessons for kids and birthday entertainment for kids parties throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

Matty Roxx, self-described "rockstar."

Matt Krass, the owner of Matty Roxx, a music instruction and weekend birthday entertainment business, says he first fell in love with music at the age of 3. "At preschool, a guitar player would come in and let us strum the guitar," Krass says. "I was pretty much hooked since then." Now the guitar player and a father of a 1-year-old and 3-year-old, Krass offers music classes for infants through age 5, and guitar lessons for ages 5 and up.

A NYS-certified general and special education teacher, Krass taught special education for the past five years in the New York City schools and continues to work as a music teacher at a synagogue in New Jersey as well as a summer camp in Pennsylvania. He decided to make Matty Roxx a full-time gig in September. Although the business is based out of Rockland, Matty Roxx travels to other parts of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

On December 14, Matty Roxx will be performing a free concert at A Matter of Health, a health food store in Nanuet, from 11:30am-12:30pm for shoppers and their youngsters. The performance is an encore, following his successful free concert at the same location on December 7, and will include songs about food, healthy choices, and seasonal favorites. Matty Roxx is also set to begin offering music programs for rockers in Nyack, New City, and Bergen County this winter. "I just really love being face to face with young people and enlightening them with music and allowing them to become musical," he says.
