It's Trick or Treat Time
Halloween fun abounds around the county this year, with activities for all ages. Here are a few of our favorites:
Children can collect ravens' beaks and dragon scales on a Haunted Halloween scavenger hunt at Museum Village. The spooky journey continues with mannequins that come to life, a haunted house, and fortunetellers. Then take a hayride to see where bone-chilling creatures lurk. October 23, 24, and 25. 6-9pm. And for the littlest ones, there's No Scare Sunday, when young children can play Pass the Pumpkin, have fun with a piñata, participate in a costume contest, and enjoy scavenger hunts and hayrides. October 25, 11am-4pm. Museum Village, 1010 Route 17M, Monroe. 845-782-8247. www.museumvillage.org.
Boo at the Zoo!
Celebrate Halloween with the animals at the Bear Mountain Zoo's annual Boo at the Zoo. Come in costume. October 31, 10:30am. Bear Mountain Zoo, Palisades Interstate Parkway, Bear Mountain. 845-786-2731. www.palisadesparksconservancy.org.
The Village of Nyack hosts its annual Halloween Parade. The event boasts live music, prizes for best costumes, and floats. October 24, 5:30pm.
