15th Annual Patchogue St. Patrick’s Day Parade; floatsCelebrate the Luck of the Irish

Whether you come from an Irish heritage or just love to celebrate traditions from the land of saints and scholars, here are our suggestions of places to get your green on!

43rd Annual Westhampton Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade: This parade proceeds from Mill Road to Main Street. March 13. 12pm. Greater Westhampton Chamber Of Commerce, Mill Road to Main Street, Westhampton Beach. 631-288-3322. www.whbcc.org.

2010 Bay Shore/Bright Waters St. Patrick's Parade: Enjoy floats, clowns, mummers, horses, antique cars, and more. A public mass is offered at noon at St. Patrick's Church, where the parade will also conclude with awards for best float, pipes, and drum bands. March 13. 2pm. Irish Elegance St. Patrick's Day Celebration in Stony Brook: Families enjoy an afternoon of Irish entertainment, starring singer/songwriter and comedian Ed Ryan and dancers from the Mulvihill-Lynch School of Irish Dance. Kids can participate in craft activities and enjoy Irish tea and Irish soda bread. Families can shop for gifts at Irish Elegance with a $5 coupon with admission. 2010 Bayport/Blue Point St. Patrick's Day Parade: An estimated 25,000 spectators are expected at this annual St. Patrick's Day parade. Families enjoy nearly a dozen pipe bands, along with nearly 70 participating groups and free Irish food all day. March 14. 11:30am. Bayport/Blue Point Chamber of Commerce, Snedecor Avenue and continuing along Montauk Highway, Bayport/Blue Point. 631-363-0154. www.bayportbluepoint.com.

2010 Rocky Point St. Patrick's Day Parade: An estimated 50,000 spectators are expected for this 60th annual St. Patrick's Day parade, along 25A in Miller Place, heading east three miles to Rocky Point. March 14. 1pm. Rocky Point Chamber of Commerce, Harrison Avenue and 25A, Miler Place, Rocky Point. 631-821-1313. www.cdmlongisland.com.

76th Annual Huntington St. Patrick's Day Parade: The oldest and largest parade on Long Island features over 25 marching bands. The parade will start north of the train station, follow New York Avenue and turn west onto Main Street, ending at Saint Patrick's Church. March 14. 1pm. St. Patrick's Day Special: Preschoolers enjoy a playdate and bounce session, 10am-12pm, while families are invited to Family Bounce Night, 5-7pm. Wear green at either session and receive $2 off! Hampton Bays St. Patrick's Day Parade: This parade proceeds from Ponquogue Avenue to Montauk Highway, heading west and ending at Atrium. March 20. 11am-3pm. Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce, Hampton Bays. 631-728-2921. www.hamptonbayschamber.com.

8th Annual Montauk Friends of Erin St. Patrick's Day Parade: The parade starts at the firehouse directly across from the LIRR, passes the judges' reviewing stand on the Green, and ends at the Montauk IGA. 2010 Patchogue St. Patrick's Parade: This 15th annual St. Patrick's Day parade kicks off on Main Street with "May the Road Rise to Meet Ye" four-mile run starting from the same location. Kids celebrate Easter with the 4th Annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza at Pal-O-Mine Equestrian.Celebrate Easter and Passover

4th Annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza: Pal-O-Mine Equestrian, a therapeutic horseback riding program for children and adults with disabilities, hosts an Easter Egg-Stravaganza, including three Easter egg hunts with over 8,000 eggs. The first 50 kids to attend receive a free Easter basket. The event also features pony rides, a small animal farm/petting zoo, plant sale, a variety of prizes, and "Golden Eggs" for the whole family. March 28. Gates open at 12pm; hunt begins 12:30pm for ages 4 and under; 12:50pm for ages 5 and up; and 1:10pm for kids with disabilities. $5 per child. Darwin the DinosaurDarwin's Survival with Heart

   Your children can live "Jurassic-ally" when they attend co-directors/co-creators/co-choreographers Ian Carney and Twyla Tharp's production of Darwin the Dinosaur. Learn about a wild and primitive dinosaur created by a scientist with magical powers who puts Darwin together piece by piece. To curb the animal's natural instinct, he discovers that compassion is missing and decides to give him a heart. Prepare for a show filled with puppetry, storytelling, and dance, as the electroluminescent characters come to life in a blackout setting at the Staller Center's main stage. Ages 7 and up. $12. Commack High School; Nicole Fieger; Art Displays, Maritime History, and More

Creative Expressions Young Artist Showcase: Art from students in grades K-12 across Long Island will be displayed in this exhibit. High Arts Showcase: View artwork on display from students from six high schools on Long Island: Commack, Harborfields, Huntington, South Huntington, Northport/East Northport, and Plainview/Old Bethpage. Saturday Drop-Off Program and Sundays Family Fun Hours: Every Saturday, at 1pm and 3pm, kids ages 3-10 enjoy hands-on science activities and complete a take-home science project while learning about Long Island's maritime history. Aquatic Adventures: Sea Lion Kiss: Each weekend, kids can get an up-close encounter - a kiss and keepsake photo - with a sea lion named Java. Saturdays and Sundays through Memorial Day, then daily in the summer. For kids 8 and up. The Amazing Invisible Dog : Kids can meet in the inner lobby of the museum to build their own Invisible Dog. Laugh with your family and friends as you take your imaginary friend for a walk. Kaleidozone - Light, Wind and Meryl Taradash: Families can explore this exhibit, which features the work of sculptor Meryl Taradash. Under the Big Top: This exhibit features reproductions of circus art by Seurat, Léger, Prendergast, Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, Chagall, and others, showcasing them alongside displays that will guide the museum's young visitors through explorations of circus skills, endangered animals, and memory games using circus characters and activities.
