Special Needs Program – Timothy’s Summer Program
Apple Day Camp is proud to introduce Timothy’s Summer Program. An all-day therapeutic summer program for children ages seven to eleven with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity and Behavior Disorders. With its central focus on building cooperation and compliance in
the home and school environments, the program emphasizes developing Home Behavior, Classroom Behavior, Anger Control, Rule Following, Social Behaviors, and Self-Esteem.
Timothy was an energetic, well-trained young Christian who was a companion to Paul, who wrote to him, “Let no man look down on your youth.”
Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch was built on a young boy’s dream to see our youth succeed, and Timothy’s Summer Program will build a sturdy foundation for them to do just that.
This seven week program specializes in identifying the problems that children with these disorders face on a daily basis and teaching the skills necessary to overcome them.
Counselors are advanced undergraduate and graduate students specializing in the fields of psychology, and special education. An individualized development plan is
developed for each child and the staff-to-camper ratio of 1 to 2 enables the Summer Program to make the summer a fun, productive and successful experience for every camper.
In addition, there is weekly specialized training for parents to aid in reinforcing the newly learned behaviors as well as offer strategies for coping with problems at home and at school.
