Camp Good Grief offers children a safe place to process and openly express their feelings. Created by East End Hospice in 1997, the camp offers specialized support for children, ages 4-17 years, grieving the loss of a parent or loved one. The experience is filled with traditional and fun camp activities, combined with grief education and emotional support. Experienced grief professionals and trained bereavement volunteers employ a variety of activities designed to give children the special tools needed to cope. Children find peer connections, support, and comfort from knowing that there are other children who understand what they are feeling and experiencing.
