Description: A day of programming highlighting birds in winter. 10am: Breakfast with the Birds/Winter Bird Feeding For Families - enjoy the winter birds at the bird feeders. Learn how to attract a variety of bird species by offering different feeders, seeds, and other foods the birds enjoy. Also, learn how to keep the squirrels entertained without damaging your bird feeders. Binoculars and a field guide are helpful. Refreshments will be available in the museum. 11am: Bird Feeder Workshop For Families - a great program covering all the basics for anyone interested in birds and bird feeding. Make a bird feeder to get started, to add to your collection, or give as a gift. Registration is required since space is limited. Suitable for ages 7 and older. RSVP required by Jan. 25 as space is limited. One feeder limit per person. 2pm: Eagle Watching in the Hudson Valley - an excursion off the Westmoreland grounds in search of the Bald Eagle. Join the Bedford Audubon Society and drive to the location(s) where the latest sightings have occurred.
