HOLIDAY CHARITY DRIVES IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY

The following charitable organizations are accepting donations throughout the holiday season for needy families in Westchester County, NY. 

 

Food Bank for Westchester

Millwood; 914-923-1100

The Food Bank for Westchester is sponsoring a Holiday Card Mailing and card Ornament program. Community members are invited to make a $25 donation on behalf of anyone on their Christmas list, and in return their loved ones will receive a holiday card and an ornament. Donations go directly to the food bank, enabling them to purchase food for the needy. This program will run through January 31st.

 

Groove Performing Arts Pajama Drive

Larchmont; 914-834-3383

All winter, Groove will be collecting PJs to benefit the Pajama Program, a non-profit that collects new, unworn pajamas and books for children, many of whom are waiting to be adopted.

 

Habitat for Humanity Westchester

New Rochelle; 914-636-8335

The organization's Homes for the Holidays campaign, running through December, asks participants to help HFH build 10 homes and raise pledge money in time for the holidays. HFH will also host a party for all of their Habitat families at New Rochelle High School in December where families can contribute to HFH's foreclosure fund.

 

JCC on the Hudson & UJA

Tarrytown; 914-366-7898

Westchester JCC members and non-members are invited to participate in the UJA Gift of Chanukah Program, which is ongoing from November 19 through December 3. Drop donations off in the JCC lobby at 371 South Broadway and they will be sent to UJA, who is collecting new, unwrapped toys to distribute to local agencies around Westchester and all of New York.

 

Three Kings Toy Drive and Networking Event

Yonkers; 914-879-9076

Westchester's 100 Hispanic Women chapter invites community members to gather at Zuppa Restaurant & Lounge (59 Main Street) on November 30th for a toy drive and general networking event. Admission is one unwrapped gift for a child, plus $30 for buffet access. RSVP by November 23rd at www.100HWW.org.

 

Volz Auto Group & Toys for Tots

Brewster; 877-219-3060

Volz Auto Group is teaming up with Toys for Tots to collect new, unwrapped toys for 1,000 underprivileged kids in time for the holidays. Donate a toy and you'll get a free oil change, discounts for future auto needs, plus Volz will even add an extra $10 to your donation. Call 877-219-3060 or click here for more details.
