Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital is designed to make kids and their families feel at home. The hospital has two playrooms, an art studio, and a music studio with instruments and recording equipment. Patients are encouraged to play with medical equipment (some real, some toy-like) during clinics. “By observing the children play, we can assess how well they understand what is happening to them,” says Tricia Hiller, Director of Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy.
