Newsflash: Tweenagers and teenagers may actually be interested in several if not all of the events listed below. Attending any one of these programs may lead to quality time spent with said parties and their parents.

Spamalot will have your kids in stitches. How can they keep a straight face with flying cows, killer rabbits, and taunting Frenchmen? This 2005 Tony Award-winning musical is based on the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. January 1, 8pm. January 2, 2pm. $15-$75. The Shubert Theater, 247 College Street, New Haven. 203-624-1825.

They may not be downloading Abba songs, but you can be sure your kids will be tapping their toes at Mamma Mia, the award-winning musical that is part mystery and part romance. January 11-16. Check website for times. $18-$78. The Shubert Theater, 247 College Street, New Haven. 203-624-1825.

The Westport Library presents the film Sounder as part of its Overcoat Film Series. The book, written in 1970, won the Newbery award, then was made into a film in 1972 and nominated for four Oscars. The story's setting and time period were left deliberately vague by the author, but the story of a poor black family dealing with poverty and a father in jail transcends time and place. January 13. 2pm. FREE. Westport Public Library, 20 Jesup Road, Westport. 203-291-4810.

The film Race to Nowhere discusses the psychological effects on children from the increasing pressure on them to succeed in school and sports. A discussion with area medical specialists follows the screening. To register, call 203-863-4277 or 888-305-9253, or register online at www.greenwichhospital.org. January 24. 7-9pm. FREE. Greenwich Library, 101 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich. 203-622-7940.

Close your eyes and you may never know you aren't in the Ed Sullivan Theater circa 1964. Beatlemania recreates the Beatle's years together from their debut on live television through their break-up in 1970. Over 30 songs are performed in this multi-media production. Hopefully your teens can restrain themselves from screaming and jumping out of their seats. January 28. 8pm. $15-$58. The Shubert Theater, 247 College Street, New Haven. 203-624-1825.

Many kids enjoy fishing and may have concerns about the environment. Take them to see End of the Line, a 90-minute documentary that confronts politicians and celebrity restaurateurs about their lack of commitment to sustainable fishing practices and the resulting negative impact. January 28. 6-9pm. $15 includes a wine and cheese reception from 6-7pm; under 21 $5. RSVP required to Jeff: 203-869-5272 x239. Greenwich Audubon Society, 612 Riversville Road, Greenwich. 203-869-5272.
