NYC’s First Pop-Up Pizza Museum Will be Free for Kids

The Museum of Pizza (MoPi) is coming to NYC October 13 through October 28 and tickets are available now, according to a press release. Nameless Network, the youth media company for Gen Z, is bringing pizza to life in the world’s first experiential pizza adventure. Admission for children ages 3-12 is free with a parent our guardian, space permitting.

The pop-up museum is sure to steal a pizza-your-heart with features channeling all five senses. Some of the delicious fun includes a pizza art gallery, cheese cave, pizza beach, pizza meditation, and exclusive film screenings. Each pizza-inspired room will make the perfect backdrop for pictures with friends or the cheesiest selfie.

Visitors will play pizza games, experience the history and untold story of pizza, unwind with “pizza zen,” and more.

“Pizza is more than a food—it’s a cultural phenomenon that transcends geography and language,” said Kareem Rahma, CEO of Nameless Network and Founder of the Museum of Pizza, in a press release. “With MoPi, we’re combining our passion for storytelling and pop culture to fuel discovery, friendship, art, music, and selfies. Lots of selfies.”

The Instagram funhouse will only be open for three weeks at an undisclosed location, which will be revealed on MoPi’s website and social media. Tickets are limited and can be purchased by visiting the themuseumofpizza.org. Adult admission is $35 per person and seniors (60+) as well as children enter for free.

MoPi follows the food-museum trend started by The Museum of Ice Cream, another New York pop-up museum that sold out in 2016 and went on to various other cities.

“A pizza museum should have special appeal in New York because of the city’s storied connection with the food item,” Arthur Bovino, a food writer, told The Wall Street Journal.

For a limited time only, adult passes can be pre-ordered at a $10 discount using the code PIZZALOVE. The purchase of a ticket gets you admission to the museum, pizza, and other fun surprises.

Special guests, artistic collaborations, the pop-up location, and more will be announced on @themuseumofpizza Instagram as well as the website.
