The Wiggles Wiggly Circus, featuring the children’s music group from Australia, will include lots of singing, dancing, and audience participation. Family Sundays at the Museum

Each Sunday, the Nassau County Museum of Art offers a 1pm docent-led family walk-through of the main exhibition and, beginning at 1:30pm, supervised art activities for the whole family. Also, special family guides of the main exhibition are available in the galleries. Free with admission of $10, $8 seniors (62 and up), $4 students and ages 4-12, FREE under 4. Inside the Mansion

Heritage Craft Fair

Explore a fascinating exhibit of 19th-century party clothes and another of historic Huntington pottery in the barn at the Dr. Daniel Kissam House Museum. A Heritage Craft Fair sponsored by the Huntington Historical Society features traditional crafts demonstrations to show how the trades were supported in Colonial times. Watch potters, candle makers, wood turners, blacksmiths, and more. A variety of booths will be filled with mosaics, stained glass, jewelry, felting, photography, handcrafted soaps, fine art, textiles, and more. Kids can even get their faces painted. Families can wear their pajamas to this end-of-summer party at the Long Island Children’s Museum on August 26. Meet favorite bedtime storybook characters, create fun crafts, and participate in a variety of activities about sleep and dreams. All visitors who bring a new pair of pajamas to the museum will receive one free child’s admission for future use. The donations will go to Pajama Program – a nonprofit organization that provides new pajamas and books to children in need.

Lynne Gerald of What's Cooking? in Oyster Bay, NY“What’s Cooking?” on Martha Stewart

Lynne Gerald of “What’s Cooking?,” a culinary school and party place in Oyster Bay, will be appearing on The Martha Stewart Show for a special “Back to School Lunches” segment. Lynne will be giving advice on nutritious but tasty meals and snacks for the kids to take to school. On the program, children will help her prepare an entrée, snack, and dessert to sample. Watch as Annie, Daddy Warbucks, and the orphans perform beloved songs when this family favorite, which won seven Tony Awards, is featured live on stage. The play celebrates the 125th anniversary of James Whitcomb Riley’s poem, “Little Orphan Annie,” which inspired Harold Gray’s comic strip. Weekends August 14-29. 7:30pm. Long Island Scottish Games and Festival at Old Westbury Gardens, Old Westbury, NYScottish Celebration

Scottish heritage will be celebrated at the Long Island Scottish Games and Festival at Old Westbury Gardens. Families can learn about Scottish culture and indulge in Scottish foods. They’ll play traditional games like Caber Toss, Putting the Stone, and Tossing the Sheaf, and enjoy competitions, pipe band and Celtic dance performances, parades and concerts. Kids can take part in a variety of activities, including face painting, pony rides, balloon sculpturing, races, and tug-of-war. There will also be a magician and dog agility demonstrations and performances. August 28. 8am-5pm. All ages. $15, seniors (over 62) $10, children 7-17 $5, age 6 and under FREE. Stroller Strides of Long Island; mom and baby working out, exercisingNew Stroller Strides Location

Moms and moms-to-be who want to stay fit have another new location where they can work out with other moms. The women’s fitness franchise, Stroller Strides, is now holding classes at Greis Park in Lynbrook. The program offers a 60-minute workout that moms can complete while holding or pushing their babies in a stroller. The classes are also offered on the Long Beach boardwalk and at the Long Beach and Island Park libraries, the Source Mall, Eisenhower Park, and other parks throughout Nassau County.
