The New England Fertility Institute, a state-of-the-art fertility center that will celebrate its 20th anniversary this May, opened an egg bank in January.

New England Fertility InstituteThe "bank" contains unfertilized, frozen eggs from donors who have been thoroughly screened and tested by the institute. This is a fast-growing service in reproductive medicine, says Marion Welch, the institute's director of outreach, which allows women who have poor ovarian function to access donor eggs easily and affordably. The pregnancy success rate using frozen donor eggs is about 85 percent, Welch says.

The New England Fertility Institute also offers a variety of other fertility services, from the basic - including ovulation induction and intra-uterine insemination (IUI) - to the advanced - including surrogacy and in vitro fertilization (IVF). The center also treats male infertility and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

New England Fertility Institute has two locations: 1275 Summer Street, Suite 201 in Stamford; 4 Corporate Drive, Suite 286 in Shelton.
