New Kids on the Block: New Shops and Centers in Queens

CUTTING IN ON FUN

A Queens mother of four has just opened Frankie’s Playce, a toy store with a haircutting salon at The Shops at Atlas Park. Frankie Janello, who lives in Middle Village, has created a fun environment where kids can play and get a great haircut.  The store has a full line of toys, with a focus on educational playthings.  There is also a special emphasis on ‘green’ toys that are environmentally sound; expect non-battery operated toys and toys made from sustainable resources.

You can get your locks trimmed in a taxi chair set in ‘Times Square’ or a red Porsche in ‘Hollywood’.  There are also regular chairs for kids who’ve outgrown the ‘play’ ones.

Janello is also working with girls from Sacred Heart, in Glendale, who are donating their hair to Locks for Love. For an appointment, call (718) 326-2023.
