Winston Prep School for Students with Learning Differences is Opening a Dix Hills Campus

The Winston Preparatory School (WPS) is opening a campus in Dix Hills this coming September, making it WPS’ fifth campus. WPS is excited to bring the essence, the expertise and methods that have been successfully applied to reach eight times the number of lives it did just two decades ago to the Long Island community.

Winston Prep is a highly individualized and responsive setting for students grades 3 through 12 with specific learning differences. Its student body is comprised of students with language processing disorders such as dyslexia, non-verbal learning disabilities such as Aspergers, and executive functioning difficulties such as ADHD.

Its unique model of education for the individual provides intense skill remediation while encouraging students to build independence, resilience, responsibility, self-awareness, and self-advocacy. Key to the development of each student is the focus on assessment-based remediation, the daily one-to-one Focus Program, a skill-based curriculum, small homogenous class groupings, an expert faculty, an emphasis on social-emotional development, and a supportive community.

WPS is currently accepting applications for students for the Long Island campus.

Over the last two decades Winston Preparatory School has continued to expand its reach in order to help more students in need, and replicate its model in order to make an impact on the field.
