    New Moms Can Join Montefiore Nyack's Support Group Starting Tomorrow
    9/12/2019 - Healthy moms, babies and families are the focus of Montefiore Nyack Hospital’s New Moms Circle Support Group, which kicks off its 2019-2020 season on Saturday, September 21 from 11am-1pm. “Maximizing Love and Managing Stress” will be presented by Beth Mintz Friedberg, LCSW, a specialist in parent education and family coaching. Montefiore Nyack Hospital’s New Moms Circle Support Group meets monthly to discuss topics of interest for mothers with infants and toddlers (newborns-2 years old). Spanish speakers are welcome.     Free Breast, Cervical Cancer Screenings Available at Montefiore Nyack
    9/12/2019 - On Friday, October 25, The Breast Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital will offer free breast exams, mammographies, and if needed, pelvic exams with PAP tests for women ages 40 and above with no insurance or who are underinsured. You can head to the Center for a screening between 8am-3:30pm.


    Rockland STEAM Summer Program Receives $50,000 Donation
    8/29/2019 - Orange and Rockland Utilities Inc. (O&R) has donated $50,000 to St. Thomas Aquinas College to help fund its Summer STEAM camp program for middle school students for the next two years. Analyzing blood spatter, processing fingerprints, collecting evidence, identifying suspects, and a variety of other crime scene investigation pursuits—a kind of CSI-STAC—are all just part of the course work at this innovative camp in Sparkill. The camp 75 students participated this summer. 


    Fit4Moms Exercise Classes Now Open in Rockland
    8/23/2019 - Fit4Moms is a national franchise that offers new moms the opportunity to exercise, bond with their children, and bond with each other. Amy Leon has brought Fit4Moms back to Rockland after a few year’s hiatus and debuted its signature Stroller Strides class–which aims to introduce new moms to the “Sisterhood of Motherhood”–on July 9. Leon was inspired to open a new location after participating in Fit4Moms classes when she was a new mom, leaning into the support system and community the exercise groups offered. Leon runs classes at various Rockland locations in The Shops at Nanuet, Rockland Lake, and Palisades Center.


    Nyack Hospital Hosts 'Big Latch On' Event for World Breastfeeding Week
    7/18/2019 - The Prenatal Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital is hosting a “Big Latch On” community event on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 9:30-11:30am in support of World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7, 2019). The Prenatal Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital is located at 258 High Avenue in Nyack, N.Y. “The Big Latch On” is a global breastfeeding initiative that launched 10 years ago in advocacy and support of global maternal and children’s health awareness.
