RoboMindTech Opens New Center in Queens

RoboMindTech, a math, science, and engineering program for kids, opened a new learning center in Fresh Meadows, Queens, offering after-school classes and summer camps.

Dennis Chan is not your conventional childhood educator. About a year and a half ago, Chan founded RoboMindTech, an innovative learning program that uses LEGO products as tools to help children ages 5 to 14 explore STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) concepts. Chan says he’s positive that the future of learning lies in STEM.

RoboMindTech“At RoboMindTech we get kids interested in robots in order to engage them and to inspire their young minds — the kids may not be scientists or engineers down the road, but along the way they will pick up essential skills and aspirations,” says Chan, who originally discovered this method of learning in Asia, where technology is integrated into childhood education at a young age.

In addition to his RoboMindTech community center in Port Washington, Chan opened another RoboMindTech storefront June 4 in Fresh Meadows. Here, Chan and his team offer weekly workshops that create a fun and hands-on educational experience in which children learn basic technological concepts through the LEGO-based construction of objects like bridges, towers, grandfather clocks, and simple robotized machines.

Two new summer camps — Space Exploration Camp and Amusement Park Camp — are now open for registration.

RoboMindTech’s new location is 185-10A Union Turnpike, Fresh Meadows. For more information, call 718-264-7626, email [email protected], or visit www.robomindtech.com.
