Sociable Kidz® Adds Summer Program, Girls-Only Class

Sociable Kidz®, a social group for children ages 4-15, has added two new programs to their schedule.

Sociable Kidz®, a social group for children ages 4-15, has added two new programs to their schedule: a girls-only class starting on Feb. 28, and an intensive summer program that will launch in July.

Owner Susan Hendler says she created both new programs because she saw a need for them. “I’ve never done intensive training before,” she says when speaking about her upcoming Summer Sociable Kidz® Fun Club Class, a month-long two-hour class that will meet five times a week starting July 2. “I hope it will allow the kids to pick up the skills more quickly.”

Class size for the summer program is capped at six children to ensure all students get enough personal attention. Two classes will be offered, divided by age, and will foster a non-competitive environment, focusing on intensive conversational skills, friendship building, combatting bullying and teasing, and sharing.

The girls-only class started at the end of February, but registration is on a rolling basis. It is designed for middle school and high school students. “There’s a real need for support for girls at that age,” says Hendler, “and girls often don’t know where to go. They need a place where they feel comfortable to talk.” The class meets on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings.

Sociable Kidz® is located at 1600 Harrison Ave., Suites 307C and D, Mamaroneck. For more information call 914-502-3295.
