Huntington Learning Center’s Summer Learning Programs. Research shows that students take steps backwards in knowledge and skills over summer break. RAND Education’s 2011 study shows that summer learning programs mitigate summer learning loss and lead to achievement gains. Huntington offers two summer programs. Our Summer Advantage Program helps students (grades third-seventh) build skills in writing, math, and effective studying. Our Advanced Study Skills Program gives students (eighth grade and higher) strategies necessary for effective studying; including time management, organization, goal setting, and writing college essays.
