The Forest Park Carousel, New York City's only landmarked carousel is a historic carousel nestled within Forest Park in Woodhaven, Queens. Visit Wheel Fun Rentals for something fun to do outdoors this summer! For more than 25 years, we’ve offered ways for friends and families to get outside and explore their surroundings while getting some exercise. Wheel Fun Rentals has six great locations in the Queens-Brooklyn area that offer a variety of bike and watercraft rentals. Visit us in Queens at Flushing Meadows Corona Park (2 locations) or Jacob Riis Park, or in Brooklyn at Marine Park, Lakeside Prospect Park, or Bensonhurst Park.

Summer Programs & Classes


Summer basketball at First Shot! Your child will learn and improve in our Skill Training sessions. Two-hour evening classes during July and August, 6:30-8:30pm in our Bayside location. Two different classes for the student that has some experience: Tuesday/Thursday for ages 8-10 and Monday/Wednesday for ages 11-14. Your child will become better at shooting free throws, lay-ups, and jump shots. We will also focus on the full court game including: defense, give and go, pick and roll, rules and violations. Enrollment limited to 20 children per class. Reserve your child’s place now.

Huntington Learning Center’s Summer Learning Programs. Research shows that students take steps backwards in knowledge and skills over summer break. RAND Education’s 2011 study shows that summer learning programs mitigate summer learning loss and lead to achievement gains. Huntington offers two summer programs. Our Summer Advantage Program helps students (grades third-seventh) build skills in writing, math, and effective studying. Our Advanced Study Skills Program gives students (eighth grade and higher) strategies necessary for effective studying; including time management, organization, goal setting, and writing college essays.
