INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOO: THE CONCERT! - Recital Hall Stony Brook, NY

The Staller Center Instrument Petting Zoo steps out of the schools & libraries and onto the Staller Center stage! Join the IPZ team for an introduction to their instruments and the symphonic fairy tale for children, Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. Learn about the sounds of the instruments, emotions they can portray, and how they all come together in a traditional piece that kids will love. This concert is the perfect introduction to classical instruments and music for young children. Recommended age 3-8. Concert will be followed by the IPZ in the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery.

My First Hike - Sagamore Hill NHS

My First Hike will be offered for 3-7 year olds. It will involve a short hike through the woods along the carriage path. Children will be encouraged to use all of their senses while on the hike. The program will last approximately 1 hour.  Must register online.

The Autumn harvest creates a wonderful collection of natural materials to use for crafting this time of year. Using an assortment of grasses, seedpods, and dried flowers, you will create a wonderful harvest wreath that is a perfect accent for the autumn season.

Trick or Treat at The Heckscher Museum - The Heckscher Museum of Art

Join The Heckscher Museum of Art to celebrate Halloween this year! Children in costume and their families are invited to visit the Museum for FREE! Children who visit the Museum in costume enjoy a festive hands-on art activity at the “Create Your Own” Activity Station, pose with spooktacular props at the Selfie Station, and make a magical digital action painting on the 55-inch touchscreen. Families are invited to explore Museum exhibitions with family activity guides. Special treats will be shared.
