Gold Coast International Film Festival - Gold Coast Arts Center and other North Shore venues
Through November 13, 2019 - Great Neck

The Gold Coast International Film Festival takes place Nov. 4 - 13 in venues throughout the north shore of Long Island including movie theaters, libraries, and the Gold Coast Arts Center in Great Neck. Throughout the Festival they screen over 80 feature length and short films for people of all ages. Films include dramas, comedies, documentaries, foreign films, short films, family films and more. Many screenings are followed by Q&As with filmmakers and special guests.

Tiny Tots - Center for Science Teaching and Learning-Tanglewood Preserve
Through May 21, 2019 - Rockville Center

It's never too early to start your child down the path to becoming a scientist! This weekly event introduces your toddler to a wide variety of science topics, teaching them to think and explore in new ways each day! Ages: 18 months to 3 years (younger children are certainly welcome as well, but the activities are targeted for this age range) 

A Night of Star Gazing - Wantagh Public Library
November 04, 2019 - Wantagh

Join the library on the back lawn for a night of star gazing.  Weather permitting, we will be able to view the Moon and try to spot Saturn and Jupiter! Tom Lynch will be here to take us on this journey through the night sky.  He will be bringing his own telescope for viewing and also providing information and instruction on the Orion telescope you may borrow from the library. Out of district registration begins Monday, October 28, 2019.

Please join the Library in thanking our local veterans for their service to our community and our country. You will be making cards* to donate to Sayville's local American Legion and VFW posts for Veterans Day. *Can't make the program but still want to say thanks? Cards may be brought to the Children's Services Desk through the Library's closing time on Wednesday, November 6.

Historic House Tours - Connetquot River State Park Preserve

Step back in time as you tour the Main House of the South Side Sportsmen's Club. A docent will discuss the history of the tavern and the high society Sportsmen's club, which shaped Connequot River State Park Preserve into what it is today. This is a Family Program! Reservations are required.

Messy Afternoons - Long Island Children's Museum

Get up to your elbows in oobleck, clean mud and slime … and join LICM for the type of artistic activities that everyone loves, but no one likes to clean-up after.  Except them! This is a free drop in program for ages 18 months- 4 years. Stop by anytime between 3:30pm and 5pm for as long as you wish.
