Arts Alive is an Island-wide celebration of Long Island's arts, culture and cuisine and features a Family Series component including the Sag Harbor Music Festival, the Long Island African American Heritage Festival, the Jamboozi Festival at the Vanderbilt Museum, Viva L'Art at Hofstra University Museum, the Heckscher Museum of Art Free art activity on the Museum terrace, the Cinema Arts Centre's Cinema for Kids featuring Gustafer Yellowgold, Elska plus Arctic Animals Workshop at the Long Island Children's Museum, and the Craic Festival Stoked Fest in Long Beach. Over 35 in total will pay tribute to the visual, musical, and performing arts, community festivals and epicurean delights that take place on stages, in galleries, at film houses, and in neighborhood restaurants across Long Island. 2nd Annual 'Arts Alive LI ' Festival - Long Island Arts Alliance

Arts Alive LI is a month-long showcase of Long Island's many art, entertainment and cultural attractions. The event is presented by the Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA) and Bethpage Federal Credit Union. From visual, musical and performing arts, to community festivals and epicurean delights, Arts Alive LI is a tribute to Long Island's arts and entertainment world and will take place on stages, in galleries, at film houses, and in neighborhood restaurants across Long Island's Nassau and Suffolk counties. Haunted House - Adventureland's Nightmare on the Midway

Debuting in October 2013, Adventureland's Nightmare on the Midway will be the premiere haunted destination on Long Island. It is an admission-based event. The premier ticket gives guests access to all rides and all four haunted attractions in the park. Parents please use discretion and call before visiting with small children.

Haunted Mansion of Melville - F&W Schmitt Family Farm

The F&W Schmitt Family Farm?s Haunted Mansion of Melville is back for its 19th fall season. Get spooked by the ghouls and goblins at the Haunted Mansion, the Haunted Nighttime Corn Maze, and their newest attraction, The Experiment. Guests who post photos to Instagram with the hashtag #SchmittsHaunt will be entered to win VIP entry for 10. The farm has a dark and troubling history surrounding a particular doctor who resides there to this day. After a patient gave him a book of ancient texts, strange things began to happen. Murders, otherworldly creatures and bodies in the cornfields are just some of the oddities his ?guests? will see. Worse still, the doctor has a new project called The Experiment, where few test subjects have escaped with all their limbs.

Haunted House - Bayville Scream Park

Every year the doors of the Bay Family Mansion are unlocked. The ghosts and ghouls come out to play. They invade all of Bayville Adventure Park. Bayville Adventure Park transforms into a spooky world of frights and surprises to become Bayville Scream Park. Featuring Bloodworth Haunted Mansion, Uncle Needle's Fun House of Fear, Temple of Terror, Zombie Pirates and Evil in the Woods! There is plenty to do for the younger kids this Halloween season. There are two "not so scary" haunted houses, the pumpkin bounce, the pumpkin patch and the spooky Halloween Express Train and Hay Ride. They can also get great Halloween snacks at the Creepy cafe like candy apples, cotton candy and popcorn and there are still all the regular attractions of the Adventure Park like Spooky Pirate Miniature golf all decorated for Halloween.

Peter Max Exhibition - Nassau County Museum of Art

This exhibition of work by famed pop artist Peter Max juxtaposes portfolios of his mostly black-and-white drawings on paper against many of his larger and more color-saturated works in a variety of media. This showing is the first in-depth look at Max�s original drawings. Covering a wide range of subjects � portraits of friends and political figures, ocean sunsets and undulating landscapes, characters from Disney and The Wizard of Oz, planetary and celestial bodies in space, angels and demons, flowers and hearts, as well as Mona Lisas and Statues of Liberty to name only a few � these never-before-seen drawings comprise one of the most recognizable and commercially successful artistic practices of our times. AftermodernisM: Works on Paper - Nassau County Museum of Art

This exhibition focuses on the exploration of the drawing skills and innovations of a number of artists. Some of these works on paper are preparation for larger works on canvas. Outdoor Sculpture Biennial - Adelphi University

See the work of 10 skilled sculptors located throughout the scenic 75-acre arboretum on the Garden City campus. This outdoor installation showcases the talents of Miggy Buck (NY), John Clement (NY), Maria Hall (NY), Ed Haugevik (NY), William King (NY), Anti Liu (NY), Johnny Poux (NY), Kim Radochia (MA), Christopher Saucedo (NY), and Hans Van de Bovenkamp (NY). Works of art encompass use of various materials-steel, bronze, aluminum, concrete and reflective mirrors. These man-made creations are transposed into poetic visual narrations.
