ROLLER SKATING RINK - Cross County Center

A new pop-up roller rink will be located outside, at Center Court. Guests of all ages can enjoy this new amenity with music, theme nights, and lots of fun. Skates are provided or bring your own. Credit and debit cards will be accepted only, no cash.

Spartan Kids is on a mission to inspire children to develop a love for fitness at an early age. Spartan Kids provides safe, age-appropriate, world class obstacle racing at various distances and difficulties for children age 4-14 to build the participants self-confidence while enjoying a thrilling outdoor activity in your community that offers lifelong progression. Participate for recreation or world class competition: Spartan Kids is a half mile (suggested age 4-6), one mile (suggested age 7-9), and two mile (required age 10-14) course with competitive racing available for two mile racers in age groups 10-11 and 12-14. Top three racers in each competitive two mile age group and gender receive a podium award ceremony with our adult Elite and Age Group winners along with free entry into the 2019 Spartan Kids World Championships later this year. Children of all abilities can climb, crawl, run, get muddy, and become a Spartan with family and friends. Join a community of people who never give up.

Family Art Project: Root Among the Stars - Wave Hill

Stars have always guided us across the world. Along the way, myriad stories have been inspired by seeing clusters of stars as constellations that make up an image. We may not be able to see all the stars in our own galaxy, but we can imagine that they are endless! Using cardboard, wood, and light, create your own constellation, celebrating your favorite nature scene. Free with admission, and admission to the grounds is free until noon on Saturday.

General Washington on the Hudson: The Battle of Stony Point - Boscobel House
August 25, 2019 - Garrison

The grounds at Boscobel come alive with live military re-enactors. General George Washington will inspect his troops. Encampments from the American Revolution and the Civil War will be situated throughout the West Meadow. Camp life will be demonstrated with inspections, formations, musket firings, artillery demonstrations, and drills. Members of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point Black Knights Drill Team are scheduled to perform. The event takes place outdoors, rain or shine. Guests are also welcome to tour the Historic House Museum throughout the day, with expert guides stationed to offer insights. This military reenactment event is proudly presented by Boscobel House and Gardens in partnership with the Living History Education Foundation.

Pack Chat for Kids - Wolf Conservation Center

This is the best introduction to wolves for families with young children. Kids will learn about the mythology surrounding wolves and the important role of wolves in the natural world. This is exciting time for wolves; they are out searching for prey as their pups grow bigger and bolder! Guests will visit Ambassador Wolves Alawa, Nikai and Zephyr, and possibly the WCC’s critically endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves as well. Pre-registration is required.

Muslim Heritage Festival - Kensico Dam Plaza

The Westchester County presents its first Muslim Heritage Festival. Celebrate diversity of Muslim cultures and traditions. Explore the contributions Muslims have made through math, science, technology, medicine, and the arts across global societies. Enjoy a fun-filled event that will include entertainment, ethnic food, historical reenactments, and an arts and crafts showcase. Muslim youth and their non-Muslim peers are working together to make it a success!

Exploring Play: Let's Explore The Shore! - Westchester Children's Museum
Through August 30, 2019 - Rye

Children between the ages of 2 and 5 are invited to a weekly class, brought to life through creative and fun movement activities. There will be singing, story time, and a take home project. This summer, the museum is taking full advantage of their wonderful location. Educators will bring out sand tables with toys and shells, and dig for "treasures!" When the children come into the classroom they will sing a new song, play a movement game, and hear the story "On the Edge of the Sea" by Betty Paraskeras. Let's pretend to be water animals. Can you guess what I am? Everyone will be able to create a special craft to take home that will remind them of their trip to the shore! Everyone can join in the outdoor fun! Sign ups begin when the Museum opens at 10am and are limited to the first 12 children on a first come, first serve basis.

Family Studio Projects - Hudson River Museum
