Science Sundays: She is an Astronomer

     Get inspired to achieve greatness at Science Sundays: She Is an Astronomer. Participate in an open discussion with planetary astronomer Heidi Hammel and local amateur astronomer Caroline Moore, with a focus on women, their role in astronomy, and their achievements in space science. Museum Junior Docents will lead interactive workshops as well. Appropriate for ages 8 and older.

The Flying Karamazov BrothersBack to the Days of Vaudeville

   Enjoy an electric mix of music, comedy, theater, and juggling when The Flying Karamazov Brothers perform their family show. The troupe has been showcasing their talents since 1973, performing everywhere from their early days in San Francisco to more recently on Broadway. Family Art Project: Harvest Time HangingsFall Creations  

   Make a unique fall item for your house at “Family Art Project: Harvest Time Hangings.”

Gather fall leaves, cones, pods, and seed heads, and then weave them together with other materials from the gardens and meadows to create a decorative wall hanging that celebrates the bounty and beauty of the season. A Christmas Carol, The MusicalGet in the Spirit of the Season

   See Charles Dickens’ classic tale, A Christmas Carol, The Musical, live on stage. With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Mike Ockrent and Ahrens, this show brings the beloved characters of Scrooge, Tiny Tim, Cratchit, and, of course, the ghosts to life. More than 40 actors of all ages from throughout the county will perform, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Food Bank for Westchester, an organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in Westchester County. Thanksgiving Weekend at Sunnyside and Van Cortlandt ManorHoliday Festivities

   Sunnyside and Van Cortlandt Manor open up for their traditional Thanksgiving Weekend. Both sites will be fully decorated for the holidays in authentic period style. Costumed guides present themed tours that focus on historic traditions of the winter holidays. Hands-on workshops for children add holiday cheer to the festivities. The Museum Shops of Historic Hudson Valley, including the flagship shop at Philipsburg Manor, will be open all weekend. Brett Rothenhaus Veteran's Day ConcertPatriotic Concert

   Dance and sing along at the Brett Rothenhaus Veteran’s Day Concert.  Local music superstar Brett Rothenhaus performs a high energy and interactive concert featuring music from his new album as well as classic tunes.  Appropriate for ages 2-7.
