Outrageous Milkshakes are Taking New York City By Storm

As the local forecast calls for snow, most folks are thinking about warming up with a steaming bowl of chicken soup or a mug of rich hot cocoa. But if you know about Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, with 2 locations – SOHO and Meatpacking District – you may have heard about their giant milkshakes, which are nearly a foot tall!

In fact, those in the know are willing to wait for up to 2 hours to get a taste of these decadent concoctions.

For $15, customers can choose from 3 of the restaurants rotating specialty milkshakes in flavors including cotton candy, salted caramel apple, and birthday cake. Yum! Each one is huge and is decorated with edible garnishes that would make any shake you’ve had before pale in comparison.

Owner and head chef, Joe Isidori said the inspiration came from his wife who once requested a cotton candy milkshake. He posted a photo of his decadent creation on Instagram, and the rest is sweet history.

What’s next on the milkshake menu? A red velvet cake shake special for Valentine’s Day and a Super Bowl themed shake.

Want to try one of these heavenly shakes for yourself? Visit their SOHO location at 529 Broome St. or their Meatpacking location at 248 W. 14th St.
