Bobby Cannavale, Edie Falco and Others to Perform One-Act Plays by NYC Kids

Several notable actors will perform in plays written by 10-year-old children from the Hell’s Kitchen section of New York City, as part of a program offered by The 52nd Street Project.

This semi-annual Playmaking series, will feature the works of the program’s youngest members, most of who have just begun their theatrical education. The Playmaking process is a nine-week course that culminates with a countryside writer’s retreat.

The works, Larger Than Life: The Supersized Plays, will be performed in front of a live audience Dec. 11-13 at the The 52nd Street Project’s Five Angels Theater (789 Tenth Ave., 2nd floor, New York).

The 52nd Street Project announced that actors Bobby Cannavale, Edie Falco and Frank Wood are among the cast members. The kids writing the one-acts are Lauren Amador-Cruz, Lily Kuzminski, Ayman Musa, Bryanna Ohene Kari-Kari, Leonel Perez, Derek Rey, Selena Sanchez, Gage Simmons and Beyonce Thomas.

The 52nd Street Project was founded by actor/playwright Willie Reale in the early 1980s in effort to improve the quality of life New York’s inner city children.
