BOO at the ZOO Returns to the Bronx Zoo Oct. 1

BOO at the ZOO will welcome visitors every Thursday-Sunday Oct.1-Nov. 1.

One of NYC's most popular fall events—BOO at the ZOO at the Bronx Zoo—is back for the 2020 season with even more dates and Halloween-themed actiities and fun. BOO at the ZOO 2020 begins on Thursday, Oct. 1 and will run every Thursday-Sunday through Nov. 1 (including Monday, Oct. 12). Events have been adjusted to ensure social distancing and to follow all New York State safety guidelines.

All guests over 3 years old must wear face coverings and all tickets are date-specific and must be purchased in advance. The park will be continously disinfected; sanitizing stations will be available for staff and guests; gathering will be avoided at entrances, exits, exhibits, or along pathways; and limited contact at all food and retail (like ApplePay) is preferred.

Spooky activities and events to look forward to at BOO at the ZOO include:

  • Magic and Mind Reading: The Bronx Zoo's popular magician will give an animal-inspired magic and mind reading show at the Grizzly Corner, 11am-4pm, every 30 minutes
  • Extinct Animal Graveyard: The eerie graveyard displays animal species that are no longer with us and teaches us how to prevent extinction in the future. Astor Court, 10am-5pm
  • Costume MASKerade: Costumed stilt walkers and Halloween-themed puppets at  Astor Court, 12pm and 2pm
  • Pumpkin Carving Demos: Watch experts create animals out of pumpkins at the Giraffe Corner, 11am-4pm. Speed Carving 11:30am-2:30pm
