OpenTable has ranked the top 25 “mom-friendly dining cities,” and Brooklyn lands 13th on the list. Rankings take into account how many of a city’s restaurants are rated “kid-friendly,” “romantic,” and “hot spots,” along with the percentage of the population that dines out for Mother’s Day.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, OpenTable, the world’s leading provider of online restaurant reservations, has released its rankings of the Top 25 Mom-friendly Dining Cities in the U.S. Brooklyn ranks 13th on the list.
“Whether it’s a meal with the kids in tow, a romantic dinner with a spouse, or a night out with the girls, each of these cities has a diverse dining scene to satisfy mom’s appetite for food and fun,” says Caroline Potter, chief dining officer of OpenTable. “And it’s very clear from the number of folks dining out locally on Mother’s Day that area restaurants have mastered the art of pampering mothers and pleasing their palates.”
The results are spread across 16 states and point to the places where it’s terrific to be both a mom and a foodie. In order to provide this ranking, the OpenTable Mom-friendly Dining Index was calculated using four variables based on OpenTable reservation and diner reviews data from 2012: the percentage of people who dined out for Mother’s Day; the percentage of restaurants rated “kid-friendly;” the percentage of restaurants rated “romantic;” and the percentage of restaurants rated “hot spots.”
