The Churchill School Partners with Cos Bar in Support of Students with Learning Disabilities

This December 5-7, customers shopping at Cos Bar, the luxury, multi-brand Manhattan beauty retailer, can donate 10 percent of their purchase to The Churchill School’s initiative for children with language-based learning disabilities. By using the code ‘Churchill10’ both online and at the downtown Manhattan location, shoppers are participating in Shop For the Cause, a philanthropic event sponsored by Cos Bar in partnership with The Churchill School.

For almost 50 years, The Churchill School and Center has been working to collaborate with students, educators, and families to help those with language-based learning disabilities reach their full potential. The school helps these children reach greater achievements and to grow as students.

Donations to the Churchill School’s initiative provide a variety of resources to positively impact the way children with learning disabilities learn. Flexible/alternative furniture for classrooms, technology to help communication, and athletic, visual arts, music, and theater programs are all beneficial for each student’s cognitive and social development.

About 13-14 percent of students in the United States qualify for special education, according to the International Dyslexia Association. Overall, between 15 and 20 percent of the general population shows signs of dyslexia, which is the most common language-based learning disability.
