Clover Prep Learning Center Welcomes New Directors

Clover Prep – FasTracKids & JEI Learning Center – Fresh Meadows welcomed two new directors, Momo Wang and Mei Hua Wang, in June. Together they bring a creative and innovative approach to Clover Prep.

Mei has more than 20 years of experience as a professional dancer and has also taught at colleges and dance companies. Momo brings extensive experience in graphic design and fashion aesthetics to Clover Prep.

The prep school focuses on comprehension of concepts rather than the process of memorization through repetitive drills. Through movement and play the learning center intends to help children retain information in fun, creative ways that leave a lasting impact.

“At Clover Prep, children learn by playing,” Mei says. “They tend to fall in love with our space right away. It’s a very bright and clean environment.”

Clover Prep serves children ages 2-12 and offers a preschool alternative program, after-school homework help, and academic enrichment. Throughout the week children can work on common core math, English, reading, and writing skills. In the afternoons children shift their focus to movement and play with yoga and arts and crafts. The prep school also offers mini camps during winter and spring break.

Mei plans to add more art therapy to the program’s curriculum. “We’d like to incorporate more art therapy because we believe it gives children a new way to express themselves and it allows shy children to open themselves up,” she says. “We really care about the individual child here at Clover Prep. We send each student home with a detailed daily report and we constantly communicate with parents.”
