Art Force 5 - Governors Island

The Art Force 5 welcomes young and old superheroes-in-training to make their own superhero action figure and customized cape. A huge comic book exhibit depicting the history of comic books alongside equal rights will delight both comic novices and enthusiasts. Visitors will be invited to paint a tile that, when joining forces with hundreds of others, will make some beautiful public art celebrating the hundredth anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance. All free, all fun, and open to all ages.

Shuttle between land and sea by coral traffic tunnel. Use whales and jellyfish as "vehicles" to transfer to other rooms. And don't forget to do some shopping in the "pearls and bubbles" mall. Everything is bioluminescent as beautiful creatures emit the soft light. Ocean Cube is an immersive pop-up exhibit coming to NYC in June 2019 that offers participants a futuristic, undersea world.

Sail the New York Harbor aboard the historic 1885 schooner, Pioneer. Pioneer tickets include free admission to the Museum's historic ships and exhibitions on the day of your sail. Just bring the ticket to the Museum before or after your sail!
Check the website for sailing times, which vary widely! Special three-hour faily ecology sails are offered every other Sunday through September 10th. ($45 for adults; $40 for kids).

Distance: 1 1/2 miles to 2 miles
Learn about Hudson River Park’s wildlife by joining knowledgeable naturalists on guided nature walks throughout the summer along the Park’s esplanade.
Each nature walk is unique and offers a one-of-a-kind treasure hunt-like experience. Park Naturalists will meet participants at the Christopher Street Fountain, just north of Pier 40 at 9 a.m. sharp. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Loud noises and barking tend to startle wildlife and reduce viewing opportunities - please be considerate and leave your dog at home.

Since 1957, on Saturdays during the summer, New York City's children have clustered around Hans Christian Andersen's statue near Conservatory Water in Central Park to hear his and others' fairytales, folk stories, and stories, told by a dedicated group of professional storytellers. Children are asked to sit with parents or guardians. Storytellling is held rain or shine.

'THE WIZARD OF OZ: A JAZZ MUSICAL FOR ALL AGES,' PRESENTED BY HARLEM REPERTORY THEATRE AND YIP HARBURG FOUNDATION - Tato Laviera Theatre

"The Wizard of Oz: A Jazz Musical for All Ages," presented by Harlem Repertory Theater (HRT) and Yip Harburg Foundation, has been extended through June 8, 2019 due to continuing and steady audience interest. As of this writing, upcoming performances are Saturdays at 3pm: December 15, 2018; January 26, February 9 & 23, March 9 & 23, June 8, 2019. The classic musical is being mounted with a multi-racial cast, a jazzy underscore and authoritative dramaturgy by representatives of the Yip Harburg Foundation. Director/choreographer is Keith Lee Grant, Artistic Director of Harlem Rep, who is in the midst of a four-year project of presenting classic musicals that have lyrics by E.Y. "Yip" Harburg.
