10th Annual Blauvelt Sons of Italy Italian Feast & Carnival - German Masonic Park

The Rockland Lodge 2176 of the Sons of Italy will host the 10th Annual Blauvelt Sons of Italy Italian Feast & Carnival at Tappan Masonic Park Fair Grounds. The popular event draws thousands of people from around the tri-state area during the spectacular four-day celebration of all things Italian and has been recognized as the biggest event in Rockland County. The Feast features an amazing array of Italian food, everything from sausage and peppers to brick oven pizza made right on site, to a huge variety of pasta dishes and Italian desserts and pastries including zeppoles, cannoli’s, sfogliatella and Italian ices. Beer and wine are available each day. The carnival area has rides and games for all ages including fishing and ring toss type games for the younger ones to more challenging games of skill for older attendees. Thrill seekers will also find more exciting rides at the Italian Feast. Carnival bracelets which offer a discount are available Thursday. For adults over 21, the Italian Feast features a casino with tables for blackjack and poker as well as wheels of chance. Numerous vendors will be on site selling everything from jewelry and home goods to hand-made artwork and Italian-themed clothing and souvenirs. The four-day Festival is a showcase of live entertainment as well.

Parents Night Out - Tenafly Nature Center

Kids can leave the parents at home this evening and visit Tenafly Nature Center! Children will have a meal and participate in fun activities with a Tenafly Nature Center Environmental Educator while parents enjoy some time to relax or have an adult evening out. Activities may include crafting, night hike, trail game, animal encounter, and a campfire with s'mores. Drop off program is intended for children 4 and up. Layers and seasonal outdoor gear are recommended (ex. rain pants, boots). In case of inclement weather, the program will be held under cover. For dinner TNC will provide pizza or hot dogs and a side of veggies. Children should bring a refillable water bottle. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. 

The Great Nyack Get Together - Village of Nyack Memorial Park

Enjoy a free, fun family day at the Third Annual Great Nyack Get-Together at Nyack Memorial Park. The event is hosted by The Nyack Center, Nyack Park Conservancy, and The Village of Nyack Recreation Department, and will feature more than 60 Rockland non-profit and business organizations who will each have a family-friendly activity for attendees. The event is open to all and represented by the hashtag #LetsNyackTogether to encourage people from across the County to attend.

Highlights: Peabody Award-winning broadcaster, producer, and director and Nyack resident, Elliott Forrest as MC. There will be live music on two stages, food trucks and art by community artisans. There will be kids activities at each vendor table as well as a recreation station, a human foosball game, and an obstacle course by Nyack Boot Camp. Kids will love climbing aboard the Jitterbug Ride, bounce house and fire truck, and, for the first time, a fire boat will be on display in the Hudson thanks to the Nyack Fire Department. The rain date for the event is September 21.

The Tap Dance Kid Directed by Savion Glover - New Jersey Performing Arts Center

Tony Award winning tap dancer and choreographer Savion Glover directs a talented cast of young performers in a revival of the hit Broadway musical The Tap Dance Kid – the show that launched his brilliant career! Based on the novel Nobody’s Family Is Going to Change by Louise Fitzhugh. Glover, who is NJPAC’s Dance Advisor and a Board member, auditioned young artists for this exciting new production in the Victoria Theater. The Tap Dance Kid, which opened in 1983 and was nominated for six Tony Awards, winning two, marked the Newark native’s Broadway debut when he joined the company at the age of 11. Reimagined for Newark audiences, The Tap Dance Kid is the story of Willie, a determined youngster who dreams of becoming a tap dancer, but faces opposition from his father.
