5 Spring Fairs and Festivals Happening in Westchester This Spring

There’s no better way to enjoy the warm weather with your family than to take in an outdoor fair or festival. You get to experience local food, culture, and celebrate with your neighbors and friends. Westchester has some fantastic street fairs and festivals coming up this Spring that you and your kids will want to be sure to check out. 

Many of these Westchester fairs have free admission and will be continuing all throughout the season. Here are five Westchester County street fairs and festivals happening this Spring:

Sheep-to-Shawl  
Sleepy Hollow
Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22; 10-5pm

Shed your cold-weather clothes and watch some sheep do the same, at this 18th century festival that takes visitors through the process of making sheep’s wool into cloth. It’s held at the Philibsburg Manor and there are tons of old-timey activities for kids to enjoy, incuding crafts, dyeing wool, and taking park in a 20-foot diameter weaving project. There are Border Collies that will be showing off their hearding skills as well as tasty food and a live Bluegrass band.

StrawFest 
Sunday, April 29; 12-5pm

Held at the Collge of New Rochelle this free festival will be celebrating its 46th year of strawberry-themed fun. There will be inflatables and food as well as live music, a dance performance, games, and of course plenty of strawberries.

Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst
Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6

This crafts fair will showcase over 275 vendors who will be displaying handmade jewelry, art, pottery, and much more. There will be interactive activities for kids such as storytelling and arts and crafts, as well as food and concessions. Children younger than 6 are admitted free.

Festa Italiana 
Friday, June 1 through Sunday, June 3

Get a taste (literally) of Italian culture at the 50th Anniversary of the Festa Italiana. There will be rides and games for kids as well as tons of delicious Italian food. There will also be a  raffle where you can enter for a chance to win $10,000 among other prizes.

White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival 
Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3; 10-5pm

Visitors can get a peak at local artists at this neighborhood favorite festival. There is also a gallery that contains art from local public school students. Each year profits from the show go to college scholarships for local White Plains students. There will also be food vendors and a free children’s art workshop. Admission is free.
