Rego Park Day Care Offers Summer and Sunday Classes

Fairytale Daycare, a day care center in Rego Park, is now offering Sunday enrichment classes in subjects such as gymnastics, chess, and piano. The Queens day care will also offer summer programming for young kids.

Fairytale Daycare recently began offering Sunday classes and will host its first summer program at its megacenter site in Rego Park. The day care moved to this center in September 2014 and accommodates nearly 150 kids ages 6 weeks to 6 years. All activities are hosted in-house.

The Sunday classes began in January for kids ages 4-15. Kids can participate in activities such as gymnastics, art, chess, dance, and piano from 9am-1pm.

The summer program includes activities such as dance, nutrition and dining etiquette, a petting zoo and farm, waterslides, and bouncy houses. The summer program runs from July 1-Aug. 31, Monday-Friday from 8am-6pm, and registration is now open.

Maria Isakov, owner of Fairytale Daycare, grew up in Rego Park and is a mother of three children. When she conceived of the center, Isakov says she envisioned a place where kids could learn and play in a large space, which was not readily available in the Rego Park/Forest Hills area. A former early childhood educator, Isakov has been running the day care for the past four years. “I was always on the lookout as a parent for something different, new, and creative in my neighborhood,” Isakov says. “As an educator, I decided that this is the path I should do.”

Fairytale Daycare also provides after-school classes for kids in the community. The after-school program started in September for kids ages 6 and younger from 2:30-6pm each school day. Teachers provide homework help, fun activities, a snack, and dinner for these kids.

Fairytale Daycare is open year-round.
