173rd Dutchess County Fair Aug. 21–26 is located on Route 9 in Rhinebeck. The Fair is the second largest county fair in New York State and the showplace for agriculture in Dutchess County. The fairgrounds is an entertainment destination where you can enjoy big name talent, “thrill a minute” excitement at one of the finest carnivals in the entire country, and free shows and attractions almost constantly from the time you arrive to the time you leave. Make-A-Movie parties are for children ages 7-12. We have a selection of themes–Action/Adventure (The Jewel of the Nile), Rock Video Awards, America’s Next Top Model, Wacky News, Detective Story, Intergalactic Rock Show, Wacky Olympics, or your child can write their own movie and we make an improvised script. All movies are improvised, so there is no dialogue to memorize. I shoot with an HD camera and then plug my camera up to your TV (or mine) to watch the movie.

Crafts at Lyndhurst is a celebration of all things handmade. This shopping event showcases over 275 modern American makers, artists and craftspeople. In addition, it’s a fun day for the entire family with activities like interactive puppet theater, face painting, storytelling, balloon animals, stilt walkers, and demonstrations. This semi-annual event is held on the grounds of Lyndhurst, home to a neo-gothic mansion museum with on-going tours all weekend. Weekend pass $12, kids 6-16 $4, under 6 free. Rain or shine. The Inn at East Hill Farm is an award-winning family farm vacation resort that is open year-round.
