Go! Tennis Offers New Children’s Tennis Program

Go! Tennis, a Bayside-based tennis facility, will start offering Teddy Tennis this spring, as well as Teddy Tennis birthday parties. Teddy Tennis, a lessons program for kids, teaches the fundamentals of tennis by combining music, pictures, and teddy bear stories.

Beginning April 29, Go! Tennis will offer Teddy Tennis, “a fantastic new fun way to encourage children ages 3 to 6 to get active and learn to play tennis,” says marketing director Hope McLaughlin. “It works by combining music, pictures and teddy bear stories into a totally interactive learning adventure that young children love.”

Teddy Tennis will be offered as part of Go! Tennis’s outdoor spring program—an eight week program held April 29-June 23. The spring program will also offer lessons for players ages 3-18 in various levels of difficulty.

Another component to the Teddy Tennis program is the birthday party packages. There are three party packages—bronze, sliver, and gold—to choose from which are similar to the regular program but are private and tailored to the birthday child and last 1-1½ hours. Go! Tennis will host two open house sessions March 27—ages 3-4½ from 3-3:30pm and ages 4½-6 from 3:30-4pm—to introduce and demonstrate the Teddy Tennis program.

Go! Tennis also offers summer camp, which is led by George Garland, director of tennis. “George is very hands-on and…prides himself on how he has tailored the camp to the needs of the campers,” McLaughlin says. Parents can take advantage of early drop-offs and late pick-ups, transportation is provided for those who need it, and discounts are available when signing up for multiple weeks.
