Children’s Enrichment Center on the UES Adds New Fitness Class

Gymtime Rhythm and Glues has recently added a Fitness Warriors program to their lineup. The program aims to introduce kids to exercise in a way that makes it fun and will develop into a life long habit, according to creator Andrew Parra. He and fellow director, Chris Vollaro, put together obstacles, then adjust the difficulty based on the ability of each particular group of kids. “It’s not hard, it’s challenging and fun,” says Parra.

The Fitness Warriors program started with four classes and by September there will be nine. Currently they are offered in two groups for kids ages 3-4 and 5-7.

Parra hopes that kids will be able to challenge themselves without the pressure to compete with their peers.  Parra and his partner also train students for specific sports or help students with basic strength training.

Gymtime Rhythm and Glues also offers gymnastics and martial arts.
