DIY: Clothespin Art Display

This easy craft project for kids give them a new way to display photos or artwork using clothespins.

This is a super-simple craft that allows kids to proudly display their notecard-sized art or printed photographs on any table, shelf, or counter in your home. They’re also a great, unique complement to any artwork your kids might make for Mom on her special day in this month.

Materials:

  • Washi tape
  • Clothespins
  • Scissors
  • Notecard-sized artwork or printed photographs

Directions:

  1. Unroll a roll of washi tape and place a clothespin on top of the sticky side of the tape. Use scissors to cut the tape at the end of the clothespin.

  2. Push the tape down around the edges of the clothespin. If your washi tape is not wide enough, you might have to add another strip to the clothespin.

  3. There are two different ways to attach the clothespins to photographs. To make a taller display, clip one clothespin vertically to each side of the bottom of the photo so that the photo is standing on “stilts.” To make a shorter display, attach only one clothespin horizontally at the very bottom of the picture so that the clothespin acts as a base for the photo.

Keep It Creative!
If you don’t have washi tape on hand, try permanent markers or paint pens to make designs, patterns, or even write words directly onto the clothespins.
