Ivy Day School Opens Third Location in Forest Hills

Ivy Day School, a network of preschools in Queens, plans to open its Forest Hills location in July. The preschool offers gifted and talented programs and foreign language classes for preschoolers.

Ivy Day School aims to offer an active and engaging environment for a child’s social and academic development. The preschool plans to open its third location in Forest Hills on July 1, continuing its standard of excellence in a larger facility.

Assistant director Emma Huang says the support from families and friends over the last 12 years has allowed the preschool to continue expanding. Huang says the school looks forward to offering families a facility focused on preparing children for the “rigors of formal education”.

With an extensive curriculum, Ivy Day School also offers specialized programs such as performing arts, a dual language program, and free potty training. The school’s Gifted and Talented program also emphasizes the importance of educational opportunities and will administer practice exercises to students as well as one-on-one tutoring.

“We really wanted to expand the dual language concept and offer even more languages to choose from for families,” Huang says. “Many of our top priorities and our vision are going to be exactly the same. We want to do even more than what we’ve been doing.”

Ivy Day School’s first two locations in Flushing offer parents the option of enrolling their children in introductory Spanish and Chinese classes. In addition to these classes, the Forest Hills location will also offer lessons in Russian.
