JEI Learning Center Announces Date for Annual Writing Contest

The JEI Learning Center is having its annual writing contest on Saturday, Nov. 5.

JEI is hosting this contest for kids in grades 2-8 in all of its locations nationwide, including Canada.

“The contest will be happening across the country at the same time, it is a great chance for children to showcase their writing abilities by creating their own original pieces,” says Marisa Ro, Center Director of JEI Center Fresh Meadows.

Children in grades 2-5 will be tasked with writing a personal reflection essay, while children in grades 6-9 will be asked to reflect and respond to a piece of literature.

Registration for the contest is open now, and will end on Oct. 30. Check-in begins at 1:30pm, and the contest runs from 2:30 – 3:05pm. The grand prizewinner receives a $1000 scholarship and an iPad Air. Prizes will also be given to first, second and third place-winners. The winners will be announced Dec. 5.

This contest gives children a unique writing opportunity and encourages fun competition nationwide. The contest will let children know how they are performing in their writing, and allow them to prepare themselves for the future.
