Kids Earn Free Ride Credits at Luna Park for Good Grades

Kids can earn free rides at Luna Park this June. As part of its end-of-school-year celebration, Luna Park will reward students who earned good grades with free ride credits. The Brooklyn amusement park is also hosting a School’s Out Celebration.

In celebration of the end of the school year (and the beginning of the lazy days of summer), kids who bring their end-of-year report cards to Luna Park Coney Island can earn up to 20 ride credits for their good grades.

From June 1-30, Luna Park will reward students for five grades on their report cards (C and higher, and the letter grades’ numeric equivalent). A’s will earn students 4 credits, B’s will earn students 3 credits, and C’s will earn students 2 credits. These bonus credits are valid on rides at Luna Park only, and exclude the Coney Island Cyclone, the Thunderbolt, and B&B Carousel. Most of the rides at Luna Park range in price from 3 to 12 credits—the Sling Shot costs 22 credits per rider—meaning kids can go on up to six rides for free.

Additional ride credits can be purchased for $1 per credit, 46 credits for $40, 75 credits for $60, or 135 credits for $100.

Luna Park is also hosting a School’s Out Celebration on June 27 from 12-8pm to get kids pumped up for an awesome summer. The amusement park has teamed up with Girls Scouts, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Super Soccer Stars, YMCA, and Art of Stepping to provide New York City kids and families this summer kick-off event. Coney Island’s DJ Toro and 92.3 Now Amp., which is co-hosting the event, will be on-site providing music and free giveaways.

From June 1-30, Luna Park is open Monday-Thursday from 12-6pm; Fridays and June 29-30 from 12-11pm, Saturdays and June 28 from 11-12am; and Sundays from 11am-11pm.
