Opening Date Set for Macy's Santaland at Herald Square

Opening Date Set for Macy's Santaland at Herald Square

It's the most wonderful time of the year—Santa is headed to Macy's Herald Square location. Beginning November 23, shoppers can visit Santaland on the eighth floor of Macy's flagship store in New York. The special 13,000-square-foot Christmas village will hold a fantasy world of glittering pine trees, snow-capped mountains, twinkling lights, cuddly animals, gingerbread cookies, and of course, Santa Claus.

Guests are greeted with dazzling holiday window vignettes before boarding the Macy’s Santaland Express. Once visitors arrive at the North Pole, Santa’s Elves greet passengers as they prepare to visit Santa.

Highlights in the North Pole also include the Kinder Sweet Shoppe; an enchanted forest complete with animatronic animals, igloos, ice sculptures, Christmas trees, holly, and colorful poinsettias; six complete sets of authentic trains and tracks surrounding a six-foot tall Christmas tree; a replica of Santa’s workshop; and a stable that holds Santa’s sleigh and reindeer.

At the end of the journey, guests arrive at Santa Claus’s home to meet him and tell him what they’d like for Christmas. Before heading home, each child will also receive a small keepsake from Santa to commemorate the experience.

Reservations are strongly encouraged, though on-the-spot reservations will be available, subject to availability. And this year, guests with limited time can purchase tickets for the Santa Express lane, available Friday through Sunday, to skip Santaland village and head directly to Santa.

Reservations are available daily from November 23 through December 24. To make a free reservation for Macy’s Santaland, visit The Macy's website beginning on November 18. For more information about the experience, contact Macy’s Holiday Hotline at (212) 494-4495.
