Random House Children's Launches Magic Tree House Adventures Educational Activity Hub

The beloved series Magic Tree House launched a variety of activities and challenges to encourage reading.

Random House Children's Books partnered with author of the best-selling and beloved Magic Tree House series Mary Pope Osborne to build Magic Tree House Home Adventures, a virtual educational program for families. Programs will incorporate videos, activities, crafts, and games that surround weekly themes. The program began on Monday, April 27 and will last through May 22.

Each week, Osborne will propose a theme with coordinating reading challenges. This weeks theme is Animals and the books included in the reading challenge are: Dinosaurs Before Dark, Sunset of the Sabertooth, Dolphins at Daybreak, Polar Bears Past Bedtime, and the Fact Trackers Dinosaurs, Sabertooths, Dolphins and Sharks, and Polar Bears and the Arctic. You can log your book progress as part of the reading challenge by joining the Kids Adventure Club and collect rewards, stamps, and coins for pages read. Kids can also listen to the books part of the weekly reading challenge with the Magic Tree House Listening Library.

Osborne's themes will also coordinate with cross-curicular lessons, Family Trivia Night game ideas, and a series of surprises and downloads including writing activities, craft activities, recipes, word challenges, puzzles, scavenger hunts, and more. Kids can track their participation in the weekly themes with a weekly calendar, available for download on the website.

Next week's Magic Tree House Home Adventure theme is Warriors, and you can prepare ahead of time by taking a look at the featured books and Fact Trackers on the Magic Tree House website.
