Modeling Camp NYC Launches Program for Younger Girls

Modeling Camp, a nationwide camp that teaches girls about the modeling and fashion industries, recently launched a program for younger girls, ages 8-11. The day camp in New York City runs for four days.

Making new friends is just one of the benefits campers will get out of their time at Modeling Camp KIDS.

Modeling Camp, which began almost 20 years ago and now has eight branches nationwide, continues to offer girls the chance to explore their interests in the modeling and fashion industries. The New York City Modeling Camp is home to the camp’s national brand, and has recently announced the launch of Modeling Camp KIDS, a program tailored for girls ages 8 to 11. Modeling Camp KIDS gives young girls the chance to meet peers with similar interests and interact with established individuals in the industry in a non-competitive environment.

Over the course of the program, campers are exposed to the various dimensions of the modeling and fashion industries through fashion challenges, runway training, auditions, and castings. All Modeling Camp programs, however, are not modeling training programs. “They are just like any other summer camp, but with a theme in modeling and fashion,” owner Heather Cole says.

Through the various activities offered, campers learn to understand the importance of health, fitness, poise, and posture in conjunction with gaining experiences that not only stimulate the modeling industry, but also help to build their confidence. “I would describe it more as a personal development camp,” Cole says.

Modeling Camp KIDS, which has a limit of 15 campers, will be held in two sessions, July 8-11 and July 29-Aug. 1 Tuesday-Friday from 9:30am-4:30pm at The Radisson Martinique Hotel located at 49 W. 32nd St. in Midtown. Registration is now open until the sessions are full.
