The Long Island High School for the Arts offers a four-week Summer Arts Academy in July that promises to be a rewarding experience for all aspiring artists, sixth through 12th grade. The program offers students professional-level classes designed to provide challenging artistic opportunities with other talented students, taught by professional practicing artists. Summer Dance-In its 37th year, the Ohman School of Ballet was founded by Frank Ohman, former soloist of NYC Ballet and is one of the few remaining direct links to legendary George Balanchine. Offering a two-week summer dance intensive as well as a six-week summer evening program. The school opens its doors to all students who wish to study classical ballet and also serves as a training ground for promising young dancers. It is a nonprofit, non-recital facility with three spacious studios and convenient location.

Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts, the nation's preeminent arts day camp offers more than 70 programs of study in the arts; visual art, dance, music, theater, writing, and arts-related fields: nature, chess, and recreational arts. Each summer, more than 1,500 students ages 4-18 are immersed in art and nature and surrounded by friends who share their interests and enthusiasm. Transportation is provided in air-conditioned buses departing from throughout the New York Metro and Long Island areas. Two-, four-, and seven-week sessions are offered from June 26-Aug. 11.

Music FunTime is an innovative and proven early childhood curriculum for kids ages 18 months to 7 years. Music FunTime is a multi-level, structured, comprehensive, progressive curriculum that incorporates music theory (teaching how to read staff music, rhythm, note values, time signatures, etc.) and application (rhythm instruments, keyboard work, sing along, and music appreciation). Our program is based on Johns-Hopkins Research that children ages 7 and younger can learn to read music notation and symbols, while helping to prepare them to take private music lessons.

Now in our 28th year, Music Institute of Long Island was Voted No. 1 Best Music School on the North Shore. Programs include violin, viola, cello, guitar, piano, voice, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and tuba. Instructions in Traditional, Suzuki, and ABRSM methods for ages 3-99, beginner-advanced. MILI offers: Chamber Music, Theory, Sight Reading, NYSSMA, and college preparation. Students perform eight times annually at Steinway Hall, Carnegie Hall, and for charities. While the big kids are at camp this summer, have some family-style, music-makin' fun with your little ones. Once a week for six weeks, you’ll sing, dance, and play with your baby, toddler, or preschooler in a play-based, developmentally appropriate musical environment. Some centers even offer classes for the big kids too! Founded in 1987, Music Together is a research-based program. Each family receives a CD or download set and songbook so you can continue the fun at home with the rest of the family. Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts’ Summer Camp 2017 is an intensive theatre training program for ages 7-18. It is designed to give all students, novices, and seasoned performers alike, the opportunity to participate in the theatre experience. Each three-week camp session will be spent rehearsing the showcase or on topics related to the showcase and some days working on theatre projects. All campers in each session will take part in a showcase, a trip to see a selected Broadway Show, lunch, and transportation. The cost is $1,050 per session.
