The Bloomingdale's Flagship Holiday Exhibit is ‘Out of This World’

This year’s festivities include holiday windows, themed gift shops, in-store experiences, and a performance by John Legend.

This year’s Bloomingdale's “Out of This World” holiday campaign is inspired by the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and will feature holiday windows, themed gift shops, in-store experiences, and a performance from John Legend, who will gift shoppers with songs from an expanded version of his first Christmas album, A Legendary Christmas: The Deluxe Edition. “Out of This World” focuses on conveying the excitement, romance, and imagination of space travel through iridescent holographic shopping bags, gift boxes, and a special catalog featuring the flagship's favorite items of the season.

“We gravitated toward this theme because Bloomingdale’s is all about bringing the best product to our customers in fun and exciting ways. What could be more exciting and whimsical than imagining how our out of this world product would come to life among the stars,” said Frank Berman, Bloomingdale’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “Beyond gifts we are excited to see this theme in interactive experiences throughout our stores and a holiday window unveiling making visiting Bloomingdale’s not just a place to shop but a destination.”

The Bloomingdale's windows on Lexington Avenue will reveal their holiday displays on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6:15pm. John Legend’s performance will kick off the reveal. Past holiday kick-off performers have included Idina Menzel, Sara Bareilles, Zendaya, and Tony Bennett. Across the department store, several stores will be hosting holiday experience events that will excite everyone in the family. Activations include Ralph’s Winter Wonderland polar ice bar, Daily Harvest Latte Counter coffee sampling, virtual reality space experiences and the GE “C-ing is Believing Experience” which features over 800 C by GE full Color Smart bulbs for a journey to the cosmos. Visitors can also meet Santa Claus and his elves through December 23 at the Bloomingdale’s holiday shop.
