New Mixed Martial Arts Programs for Children in Queens

East Coast United Queens Academy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, a new mixed martial arts center located in College Point, offers mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for children in Queens. All lessons are taught by black-belt level instructors, and children receive ample one-on-one training. The center also offers mixed martial arts classes for women.

An accomplished competitor in the mixed martial arts world, head instructor Rob Gutierrez uses his vast knowledge and experience to train others in a variety of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu styles, from introductory to aggressive methods. In September, Gutierrez introduced his art to the Queens community through the programs at his new center, East Coast United Queens Academy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. Gutierrez says teaching “fills him with a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment” because he loves passing on the art of Jiu-Jitsu.

The center welcomes children ages 4-17 to learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under world-class instruction. The classes, taught by three black-belt instructors, are beginner-friendly, and students receive ample one-on-one attention. The kids’ programs run Monday-Friday from 5-6pm and are separated into two age levels: children’s classes (ages 4-12) and teenage classes (ages 13-17).

Parents are not to be overlooked: Gutierrez has introduced a women’s MMA fitness class and boot camp, as well as adult courses and open mat sessions so parents can work out while their children attend class.
