NYMetroParents and Staten Island Parent Receive 9 Awards at Annual Parenting Media Association Conference

On March 1, Parenting Media Association presented NYMetroParents and Staten Island Parent, a division of Davler Media Group, with nine excellence awards at its 2018 Design and Editorial Awards reception, held in St. Petersburg, FL.

Parenting Media Association is a national trade association of regional parenting publications. PMA's annual Editorial and Design Awards Competition recognizes excellence in journalism, photography, and design achieved by publishers, editors, writers, and designers at parenting newspapers and magazines throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Professor Ruben Stern of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism coordinated and oversaw the annual contest. A panel of judges reviewed the 566 entries for this year’s competition to choose the winners in each category. All judges drew upon significant professional experience in selecting the winners.

“Entries in this year's contest demonstrate the impressive quality and ongoing commitment among these publications to provide parents across the country with important local resources and to entertain, inform, and build community,” Stern said. “The design and writing have become noticeably more sophisticated.”

NYMetroParents and Staten Island Parent are proud to receive three Gold Awards, three Silver Awards, and three Bronze Awards. Below is the full list of NYMetroParents and Staten Island Parents’ awards, including comments from the judges about why honors were given:
